« The question is what should be done next if the CPP, as usually expected, will not play by the fair rule in the investigation?
We can hope, but a little, that they will play by the fair rule since fair play is not in their blood; had they played by the rule, we would not be discussing the election issues right now.
Compromising by joining hands to form a government with them will allow them to push their way in every time they lose the election and make them hope to destroy the CNRP with time through their patronage system. We have no way of knowing in advance that the CNRP leadership can withstand the CPP storm of patronage to destroy its unity?
Cambodian people who are the owners of the votes should decide if they want to protest the election irregularities and not accept the victory of the CPP. Perhaps, the only way to change Cambodia for better is through the courageous protest since accepting the CPP’s result is accepting an unfair election which betrays the will of the people with another 5 years of natural resource destruction at the hand of the CPP and unchecked inflow of illegal Vietnamese immigrants.
Not protesting this election result in a massive unified demonstration is a big mistake the Cambodians will make! With the current situation in Cambodia, it will not be possible to solve the deeply rooted problems of corruption and others and bring about changes without some loss of lives in the process.
The courage or lack thereof of the Cambodian people will decide their destiny! «
Election 2013 versus Paris Peace Agreement October 23rd 1991
We want to emphasize strongly that the strength of our position facing the problem related to the presence of Vietnamese and foreign forces in Cambodia is dictated only by a certain spirit that haunts us day and night and not as some think wrongly, by some sort of racism exacerbated toward our neighbors. This certainty is that, as long as this problem is not resolved in accordance with the mandatory provisions of the Paris Agreement, there can be no question of any option or restore peace, or to conduct free and fair elections fair in our country. And that, precisely in the absence of a neutral political atmosphere serene and made inevitable by the continuing presence of undesirable foreign elements, because by disrupting essence. Finally, and to be honest, our intransigence in this area is also motivated by a reasoned and reasonable fear that we squeezed against the human tide surging with a mass term risk and little time to overwhelm us body and soul! In truth, we do ask just to live in peace with everyone, but this is only possible if everyone stays at home while maintaining the one with the other friendly relations of good neighborliness in mutual interest. So, the expansionist vietnameses must go home!
