The British Lesson

Posted by KhmerPAC in Event, Politics

My dear Kacvey,

Your interest in the British elections of 7 May 2015 should be commanded and the elections could be used as a case study or a seminar for your poli sci students and also for Cambodian politicians, particularly how Labour lost as a whole and how it lost every seat in Scotland in favor of the SNP. (Not to be confused with SRP, though!)

You also call it a political courage for the leader of Labour to offer his resignation from the leadership of the party as soon as the result of the Labour debacle came in. Even The Guardian, a pro-Labour newspaper offered this title: “Ed Miliband resigns as Labour leader” Continuer la lecture de The British Lesson

Summary of Annual Democracy and
Political Irregularities Reports

Democratization in 2014 continued to be undermined by serious shortcomings preventing Cambodia from moving forward towards an established democracy. Any positive political developments were gradual and highly uncertain. It remains to be seen if these changes can put the democratization process back on the right track.

Withdrawal of armed forces officers and court officials from the political party ranks to strengthen the rule of law and democracy in Cambodia

We, Elections Reform Alliance (ERA) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), condemn the political party which included, or will imclude court officals and armed forces’s officers within political party’s ranks.  This inclusion is a violation of the constitution, the rule of law, and the principle of democracy, in particular free and fair elections.
